It has been quite a while since I have had time to publish a blog. Mostly this has been because I have been very busy in my career as I approach retirement. Lately my focus has been on AI in my profession as a software engineer. AI has proven to be a useful tool in assisting my programming efforts.
My software is literally tens of thousands lines of code, so at a point it becomes impossible for a single person to keep tract of such a huge project. AI cannot write a software program, and when using it to help examine your software take care as the AI will make mistakes. AI is great at making suggestions, finding broken or dead code, making in depth comments in the code as well as describing what the code does and what the calling functions are. AI is also good at reviewing your code and writing a preliminary user guide and manuals, which you can edit to your needs.
So, where am I going with this? Well, my experience with AI for programming had we wanting to experiment with other aspects of AI, such as music and video creation. So far it has been fun as I try out several different AI web apps. Some are good, few are great, many are trash that iexist to simply liberate you from your hard earned cash.
Whether using AI for programming or artistic pursuits, the main lesson I learned was how important good and concise prompting is. To back to an ancient programming axiom, ‘Garbage In, Garbage Out.’ AI is pretty good at detecting eypos and misspelling, but it is still important to review your prompts before executing a build.
Why is this post entitled. ‘My Conversations With The Search Engine AI? Simple, trade mark violation avoidance, and my interactions with the AI provides better results when my prompts are more conversational rather than bland command type prompting. I have found that when I approach my inquiries conversationally, my thoughts seem more precise, and the prompts seem to get better results.
My interests are across the board, many friends commented that I had many irons in the fire. While this is true, it has also made it difficult to stay on track with projects as I trying not to be distracted by back-burner projects.
In conclusion, these AI conversations will be covering various topics, some controversial. Here I need to note, the responses from the AI conversations are provided for entertainment purposes and should not be taken as factual. Hopefully, these conversations will display how prompting produces results.
Thank you, amd have a great day.
