I got one of those emails today from a friend. You know the kind, the kind that bombards you with hate-filled political rhetoric. The email subject line is; “SEE IF I GOT THIS RIGHT!!” and is followed by this diatribe:
This just about sums it all up. “JUST ABOUT” is the operative phrase. Rest assured the present administration has a lot more up their “sleeve”. And if ALL OF US don’t turn out and vote 2 NOV 2010 & in NOV, 2012 we have lost America as we know it.

IF YOU CROSS THE NORTH KOREAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET 12 YEARS HARD LABOR.
IF YOU CROSS THE IRANIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU ARE DETAINED INDEFINITELY.
IF YOU CROSS THE AFGHAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET SHOT.
IF YOU CROSS THE SAUDI ARABIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE JAILED.
IF YOU CROSS THE CHINESE BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU MAY NEVER BE HEARD FROM AGAIN.

A JOB, A DRIVERS LICENSE, SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, WELFARE, FOOD STAMPS, CREDIT CARDS, SUBSIDIZED RENT OR A LOAN TO BUY A HOUSE, FREE EDUCATION, FREE HEALTH CARE, A LOBBYIST IN WASHINGTON BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF PUBLIC DOCUMENTS PRINTED IN YOUR LANGUAGE. THE RIGHT TO CARRY YOUR COUNTRY’S FLAG WHILE YOU PROTEST THAT YOU DON’T GET ENOUGH RESPECT AND, IN MANY INSTANCES, YOU CAN VOTE.

This time, rather than ignore it, I chose to turn their rhetoric against them. I might loose a friend, but you know, we have to stand up for what is right and not just blow it off. It is a serious thing, these hateful, venomous, bigoted people threaten the goodness of America. There are those that say that it could never happen in America, but this is just exactly how it began in pre-Nazi Germany. My reply to this tripe was simple and poignant as these good, patriotic Christians wish only to do God’s work and be righteous and “Christ-like” in their authoritarianism. My reply was as follows:
“??? Let me get this correct. We should be more like the non-Christian, communist and muslin countries? Don’t get me wrong, but the author of this e-mail is not comparing us to the Christian countries, our allies in the fight against terrorism, but to our sworn enemies.”
Now, lets forget for a moment that most of the claims of how illegals benefit is false and focus on exactly which countries the hate-filled author of this B.S. is telling the reader we should emulate. In his hatred, the author seems to have over looked a simple fact, he is expressing an opinion that America should become more like those countries which are Communist, Fascist, Authoritarian and just simply don’t like us. I am sure this person regularly makes the claim that Obama is a socialist, so why does the author believe that we should be more like China, Venezuela, Cuba, and North Korea? From a previous email, I know the the author also hates Muslims, yet he is telling us that we should become more like Iran, Afghanistan, and Saudi Arabia?
Personally, this is telling since these conservatives are extreme and desire a “Cleansed” country.” You don’t think so? Listen closely to the code word filled speeches of those “Good, God fearing Christians” of the TEA party. They are prime examples for the comments of Gandhi when he stated: “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. You Christians are so unlike your Christ.” These fanatics give all Americans and Christians a bad rep., and for one, I am sick of their inflammatory, hate-filled speeches. Please vote this November, and remember, the country that you save is yours.
